Fall Pool Party

Isn't everyone going for a swim outside at the end of September?  Ok, maybe not everyone, but when you live in Arkansas pool season lasts a little bit longer.

Of course, he still loves to splash.

His curiosity has led him to explore what's outside the pool.

"Hmm, grass.  Interesting."

The rubber duckies always bring his attention back into the pool.

Even Ricky got into the fun, but in his own pool.

All smiles after a swim!

Hot Rod

You might recognize this box from the "Rainy Day + Cardboard Box" post in August.  Since then it has had some work.  We souped it up with fire red racing stripes, roll bar, spoiler, and donkey hood ornament.  Comfortably seats four.

Fall...kinda

We finally got some fall-like weather on Saturday, and by fall-like weather I mean temperatures were below 80 degrees.  It was so nice to wear to pants and long sleeves for the first time in 5 months and it was fun to finally see Max wearing something other than his diaper.

We started the morning by picking pears for another batch of pear wine.  Max and Ricky were good helpers.

"Ah, this cool air feels nice!"

Worn Out

We must have done a good job of wearing him out today because he did something that he never does...fall asleep without us trying to put him to sleep!  Usually when he falls asleep we bolt out of the room before we make a noise that wakes him up.  This evening I took advantage of his sleepiness and snapped a few photos.

9 Months Old

Max has reached many milestones in the past month.  He has been pulling himself up, walking while holding onto furniture, and crawling non-stop.  He has also discovered how to feed himself, which is a good thing because all that work makes a little guy hungry.  He had his 9 month check-up today and he weighed in at 19 lb 4 oz and 27.5 inches tall.  He's turning into a big guy!

Likes:  Watching Ricky, crawling, tilapia (surprisingly!), standing up, feeding himself, Ricky's water dish, playing peek-a-boo, and the shower.

Dislikes:  Sitting still.

Going to the wine rack to pick out a celebratory bottle of wine.  He's definitely our child.
