We got a glimpse of our daughter this week. She was shy and wanted to cover her face with her hands but we got one good profile picture of her.

March Madness
Everyone has a different method of making their bracket picks. Some go strictly by the numbers, other by colors and mascots, or personal affiliations with the university. Max and Ricky take a different approach. They pick winning teams using the Cheerio Method. Two Cheerios are placed in front of them and are each assigned a team. Whichever one they eat first is their pick.
Some people laugh at the Cheerio Method but clearly there is a lot of thought put into it.
Yes, this decision tastes right.
Watching his first big upset. He picked the underdog in this game and they won!
Max's bracket. A lot of his picks are wrong so far but his predicted champion is still in it.
Ricky's bracket. He was really hoping for a Cinderella story.

First Trip to Montana
Max took his first trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Homestead, MT. Ross was a brave soul to fly alone with him and Michele much appreciated the break. The weather was beautiful most of their visit which allowed Max to spend a lot of time outside. He met a lot of people and made a couple of furry friends. A big thanks to Grandma Twila for taking all of these photos.
He's very pleased with his walking stick.
Collecting rocks is his new favorite outdoor activity.
When the bucket is full just dump it out and start over!
Molly was always close by to keep an eye on Max.
Boots is Max's first kitty friend. They were both really interested in each other.
Max got a new pair of snow bibs for his trip to Montana but the weather was so warm he didn't even need them. The closest he got to snow was the remains of a snow drift. Maybe next time!
Grandpa gave Max lessons on how to drive a tractor. He looks like he's ready to take it out for a spin.
Great Aunt Carolyn stopped by to meet Max.
Max was shy around new people but warmed up to them if they watched videos of him from the blog. He made himself comfortable on Great Aunt Doreen's lap once he found out she was a fan.
A picture in front of the town marker is a must-do when visiting Homestead.
All smiles.
This guy knows how to enjoy vacation.

Man in the Mirror
Max isn't sure what to think about this guy. The dirty looks from him are rude but he will admit that he's good looking and his jokes are hilarious.

Yard Work
"Dad, you missed a spot over there." What a good helper!
He's not afraid of a little manual labor.
He's good help, but sometimes he gets in the way.
That's okay, there's plenty of other things to do outside, like bring sticks to Ricky.
Or, enjoy the peaceful shade under this shrub.
Finally, break time! That means rides in the wheelbarrow!
Ricky could hardly wait for his turn.
Sorry Ricky, it's dad's turn for a ride first.

Atlanta
Ross was sent to Atlanta for work for a couple weeks which gave Max, Ricky, and I an excuse to take a little road trip! We spent the weekend with Ross exploring the city and a few days with a friend. Max added two new states (Alabama and Georgia) to the list of states he's visited.
After a long ride in car the day before we were antsy to get outside and run around. We spent a few hours at Piedmont Park. Max joined in a soccer game and made lots of friends with the other park goers.
It feels so good to get out of the car!
After we had our fill of sunshine we went to the Georgia Aquarium. There was so much to look at!
The little fish are just as fun to watch as the big ones.
The next day was another day of great weather. We took a long walk around Stone Mountain before parting ways with Ross for the rest of the week. This old mill made a nice spot for photos.
Next stop, Stacy's house!
You might say he had a fun time playing with her.
How can you not like visiting Stacy when she takes you out for sweet treats? Max had his first Krispy Kreme experience. After watching the freshly made donuts roll off the conveyor belt he got to enjoy his first (few bites of) a hot donut.
Ricky made a new friend, too. Ricky's friend showed him all the best smelling spots in town.

Float Like a Butterfly, Sting Like a Bee
It takes foot work like this...
...to win wrestling matches against opponents like this.
