Last Day of Pre School

This morning I told Max I needed to take his picture because it's the last day of school.  He told me he wanted to take his own picture.  He picked out the spots where he wanted his picture taken and I set up the tripod.  I gave him the remote and he did the rest.  

When the bus arrived he took off running (I took the last two photos).

Max learned so much during his first year of school and had many great experiences.  We are so proud of him!

Happy Easter everyone!  We painted eggs today.  I've always dip dyed hard boiled eggs but this time I tried something new.  I blew out the eggs and let the little artists decorate the shells.  Their creations are beautiful!

Dog Mushing

Max participated in his first dog mushing race this weekend! Max's best friend from preschool also raced.  Max borrowed a sled and a dog from a friend.  This dog was so powerful and fast, but Max held on tight around the turns.  He was in the home stretch when the dog suddenly made a sharp turn off the trail.  Max and the sled went crashing into a wooden sign about 5 feet from the finish line.  His nose was scratched up and after some tears and mom checking for broken bones, he made it across the finish line.  Despite his crash he placed 6 out of 8.

He was really excited to race again the next day but when it was time to step on the sled he was afraid to crash into the sign again, so he backed down.  Since then he told us he would race again next year...if they move the sign.
