Last Post from the Lower 48

I decided to do one more post before we continue our journey on Sunday.  The weather was so gorgeous that we had to play outside and of course I took pictures.  The kids are wearing a few more layers than they are used to but they seem to like the cool weather.

Ricky feels at home again chasing pheasants.  Look at that smile!

Chewing on a blade of grass like true country folk.

Lots of giggles with dad on the swing set.

Weeeee!

Max pretty much stuck to climbing the dirt pile and playing with rocks.

Can't forget about the tractor.  He needs to sit on it every time he goes outside.

Travel Status

We are traveling between our old home and our new home.  We won't arrive in Tok, AK until October 24 at the earliest.  Until then there won't be much on the blog.  So far we spent three days on the road driving to Homestead, MT to visit grandma and grandpa Flagen.  We will hit the road again this weekend.  Until then we are relaxing with family while the kids play and take naps on grandma's bed.

He's an Animal

One of Max's favorite books is about animals in Ohio.  The reason he likes it so much is because I let him watch videos of the animals.  While reading the book tonight he hopped up and ran to the fridge.  What was he looking for?  A carrot.  Why?  That's what the groundhog in the video eats.

I need to find more videos of animals eating vegetables.

Whistling

Why do you need to learn to blow in a whistle when you can make your own whistle sounds?

Camping

I know, it's been two months since I posted anything.  Things have been a little hectic around here for a while.  Ross was gone for two weeks for work in July.  A few days after he came home I went on a two week road trip with the kids.  Once we got home there was a lot to catch up on around the house.  It took a while but now we are back into a normal routine, which means I will be posting more often!

Labor Day weekend we took the kids on their first camping trip.  As usual we went into it expecting the worst but hoping for the best.  And, as usual, we surprised ourselves that we survived another adventure with toddlers.

Our beautiful campsite was right on the lake.  Audrey was more interested in the rocks than the view.

They did NOT want to sit still for a photo.  There's too much exploring to do.

Breakfast by the lake.  This is how every day should start.

Big rocks are meant to be climbed on.

No surprise here.

Trying my best to turn him into a little fish!  He got the hang of kicking his feet and swimming towards me.

Max had no fear swimming far from shore.  Lifeguard Ricky always swam out to check on us.
